The European Parliament and Council (EU) General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) implemented by the European Union in 2018 provides legal protections for personal data and privacy of citizens of the EU and EEA, and also governs the transfer of such personal data out of EU/EEA territories. Any individual or organization which handles personal data must clearly disclose any data collection, declare the lawful basis and purpose for data processing, and state how long data is being retained and whether it is shared with any third parties or outside of the EU/EEA. As stated in the preamble to the regulation, “everyone has the right to the protection of [their] personal data”.

Research to develop some portions of the content of this website was supported by a grant from the US Fulbright Scholar Program during the 2019-2020 academic year. The Fulbright Scholar Program, the US Department of State, as well as their governing organizations the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) and the Institute of International Education (IIE), have contributed no content to this website, and they are not responsible for the data protection management of this website; that responsibility lies solely with Rohatyn Jewish Heritage.

Personal Data Collection, Usage, and Transfer
We do not collect any personal data of any kind from users of this website; there are no text fields on any of our pages to enter comments or through contact forms to sign up for mailing lists or other subscriptions. Through this website we do not collect names, postal mailing addresses, electronic mailing addresses, phone numbers, social media account names/handles/profiles, or other identity. We have intentionally disabled website features such as comments, likes, poll & survey responses, and follows. We do not use Google Analytics. Through this website we offer nothing for sale, and we do not collect personal or institutional banking information. We do not accept advertising on this website, so there is no possible third-party transfer of personal data through such means. We have installed no tracking applications on this website to log or analyze information about site visitors.
In addition, this website and its users are protected by a form of Transport Layer Security (TLS/SSL, i.e. https://), a cryptographic protocol designed to provide communications security over a computer network via 256-bit encryption.
